Hubble Mobile comes to Android, plus a year of updates

Last November we laid out our plans for 2026. Two of the biggest items on that list were bringing Hubble Mobile to Android and letting you reply to email inside Hubble. Both are here now, along with a lot more than we planned. Here is what changed over the past year.

🤖 Hubble Mobile for Android (Beta)

Hubble Mobile is no longer an iPhone-only app. The Android beta is open today for every active Hubble campaign, and it does everything the iOS app does:

• Pull up your turf assignments, walk lists, and response forms
• Assign yourself a new turf by typing its ID or scanning a QR code
• Record outcomes and answers for all eight question types
• Copy responses across a household with one tap
• See the whole turf on a map, color-coded by what is done and what is left
• Read contact notes, tags, and lead info before you knock
• Add a home screen widget with your canvass stats

It also does one thing the iPhone app does not do yet. If you lose service in the middle of a turf, Android keeps a queue of everything you entered and uploads it on its own once you are back online, even if you close the app or restart your phone. The turf list shows “Waiting for connection” until it goes through, so you always know where you stand.

The app runs on Android 10 and newer, and it works on tablets with a split view for the turf list and the map. Log in with the same Hubble account you use on the web.

📍 Better at the door, on both platforms

The iOS app picked up a lot over the year too, and everything below is in both apps.

Improved support for Apartments. Every door shows its unit, so 108 E Granville Rd APT B and APT C are two rows in your walk list, two stops in your walk order, and two doors on the map. A building with several units shows as one pin that opens a unit list. Before this, a canvasser looking at a six-unit building saw six identical rows and could only reach one of them from the map.

Report a bad pin. If a house isn’t where the map says it is, tap Report Location, drag the pin to the real door or use your phone’s location, and send it in. Your campaign reviews the report in Hubble, and the door shows whether it was applied on the next sync. This works offline as well.

Follow-up questions that only appear when they should. Build a script where “Would you like a yard sign?” only shows up after someone says they support the candidate. Follow-ups can nest as deep as you need. This was the most common request from campaigns coming over from VAN.

Lit drops in one step. On a lit-drop turf, you record one outcome and one set of answers for the door, and Hubble applies it to everyone who lives there.

Milestones. The app celebrates your first door and every quarter of the turf after that. Finish the whole thing, and you get a mission-accomplished card with a button to sync and close it out.

Your own stats. Each canvasser gets a stats screen with their current streak, best streak, all-time totals, and an outcome breakdown.

Also: directions to any door, a No Trespassing outcome, filters that stay put when you reopen a turf, and a proper location permission screen at sign-in that explains why the app asks.

✉️ Reply to email without leaving Hubble

Your campaign already receives email on its own domain inside Hubble. Now you can answer it. Every mailbox has a conversation view, and replies go out from the same address the voter used to write.

The bigger change is what happens when someone replies to a mass mailing. Hubble threads the reply back to the mailing and the recipient, counts it on the mailing’s stats, and logs it on the contact’s record. A newsletter that gets forty replies used to mean forty emails buried in an inbox. Now it is a list of forty people who want to talk.

Email domains set up for you. Add a domain under Web Domains, verify it once, and Hubble configures sending and receiving. No more copying DKIM records from an email.

We also spent real time on the email designer: preview text, a working clone, trash and restore on sent messages, a bold unread inbox, and a warning before you navigate away from unsaved work.

💸 Hubble Contributions

Surprise! You can now take donations directly in Hubble for those times when ActBlue isn’t an option.

• Donation forms hosted on your Hubble site or embedded anywhere
• Recurring giving, with a prompt that invites one-time donors to make it monthly
• Refunds, payouts, and a donor account with magic-link login so supporters can manage their own giving
• Every contribution lands in the ledger and on the contact record the moment it clears

Payments run through Stripe. The donation page is protected against card-testing bots, and Workflow triggers fire on new contributions the same way they do for ActBlue.

🧾 A Finance Hub built for treasurers

Bank reconciliation by month, per account. Compare balances, add adjusting factors, and close the month.

Adjustments with an audit trail. Ledger entries are no longer edited in place. A correction is a separate record that shows who made it, when, and why.

ActBlue reconciliation you can trust. Settled fees show correctly on each contribution, and we check each settlement file against its own net total before it posts.

Disclosures, bank accounts, and receipts in the UI. Create a filing, attach evidence, and refresh the numbers without asking us. Manage bank accounts and expense receipts in the same place.

Contribution limits now have their own screen, and contributions support nested filters with CSV export.

📥 Bring your own data

Custom imports came out of beta with sixteen operations. Upload a CSV, map your columns, and Hubble can create or update contacts, add names, emails, phones, and addresses, tag people, add them to lists, log notes and interactions, record volunteer duties, set email opt-in or opt-out, and post contributions or recurring commitments. It can also reconcile an ActBlue settlement file.

🔍 Search, lists, and scores

Search is fast. Voter and contact searches that used to take forty seconds now come back in a moment. The turf cutter opens instantly instead of loading every door on the list first.

Multi-step list building. Search 2.0 rebuilds the filter bar around steps. Each step adds, removes, or samples people, so you can see exactly how a list was built and change any step without starting over.

Scores and householding. Narrow a search by partisan affiliation, turnout, or early vote scores on a 0 to 100 range. Then fill out the household or narrow to one person per address by voting or mailing address.

Lists do more. They can hold contacts and voters, filter in place, refresh from the search that built them, split into equal chunks for volunteers, and merge with each other.

👤 Contact Hub, redesigned

Adding a person is one form. Start with a name, and a Matches panel shows likely duplicates and voter file matches as you type. Hand-keyed contacts finally link to the voter file on entry.

The contact record leads with what matters. Last touch, lifetime giving, and lists are up top. Touches and Engagements are now one Activity timeline you can filter.

Two review queues. Duplicate lists suspect pairs with confidence and evidence so you can merge or dismiss in bulk. Voter Matches does the same for unlinked contacts that look like a voter file row. Both run nightly, so they stay fast at a million contacts.

Address autofill everywhere. Every address form suggests addresses as you type and normalizes them to the voter file’s spelling.

📅 Facebook posting (Beta) and the Messaging Calendar

Connect your campaign’s Facebook Page and draft, schedule, or share a website article to it from Hubble. Facebook posting is in beta, so reach out if you want it turned on for your campaign. The new Messaging Calendar shows everything going out in a month, including mailings, articles, and Facebook posts, colored by Topic. Mail Topics are now just Topics, each with a color, and a Topic can be a mailing list or simply a category.

• Manage your site navigation and footer yourself
• Custom domains and subdomains, with sitemaps and proper redirects
• Volunteer sign-up forms on your public site with duties and an approval step
• Postcards from start to finish: assign a list, track the shipment, print Avery 5160 labels, and log an interaction when they mail
• Document vaults with version history
• Manual event RSVPs and to-do lists

🛠️ Running your account

Self-serve billing. Start or restart a subscription, replace the card on file, view and pay invoices, and cancel or undo a cancellation, all from the Federation Hub. Trial and payment emails now come from Hubble and link straight to that page.

Read-only after the election. A campaign that has wrapped up can still sign in, browse everything, and export all of its data, including contribution and payout CSVs, receipts, disclosure reports, and vault files. Your data stays yours.

A new look. The whole app moved to Bootstrap 5 with a refreshed design, a new rich text editor, and a manager dashboard with a Radar panel that surfaces what needs attention.

What’s next?

A few items from last year’s list are still in progress. Two-way texting is underway, and calling and texting from the mobile app is on the board after the Android beta settles. We’re also exploring bank feeds for the Finance Hub.
